How to get to Deep Creek Fishing Club
Book a flight from your home airport to Anchorage. Once you’ve reached Anchorage, you have several ways to get to the lodge:
1. Drive to/from the lodge:
From Anchorage, the driving distance is 186 miles, which should take you 3.5 to 4 hours depending on how many stops you make. (Our physical address is 67480 Halibut Rd, Ninilchik AK 99639). It’s a stunning scenic drive that takes you through the snow-capped mountains of the Chugach National Park, past aqua-colored lakes and turquoise glacial rivers. Just follow Hwy AK-1 South ~ travel is all on a good road system and since there’s only one, you can’t get lost!
For your return to Anchorage on your day of departure, allow 4 hours of driving time, plus sufficient time for the return of the vehicle, and remember that most airlines require that you check in an hour prior to departure.

3. Commuter Flight
Another option is to take the commuter flight from Anchorage (ANC) to Kenai (ENA) with Grant Air or Kenai Aviation - it only takes 25 minutes, and we will pick you up in Kenai and drive you to the lodge. The drive from Kenai to the lodge takes about 45 minutes.
Note: Currently, these commuter Airlines do not have a code share program with any of the national airlines. You will have to collect your bags in Anchorage and transfer them yourself. Allow yourself enough time between flights as they require that you check-in at least 45 minutes prior to departure. If you're checking bags and fish boxes, it's best to check in 90-minutes early.

If you'd like to have a vehicle with you nonetheless, then it must be rented in Kenai. Ninilchik does not have any car rental facilities. Currently the Kenai Airport only has 3 car rental companies to choose from: Avis, Budget & Payless. The drive from Kenai to the lodge takes about 45 minutes.
About Car Rental Options
- Please remember to rent a vehicle that is big enough to accommodate yourselves, your luggage, and the boxes of fish boxes you'll be taking home. (Unless you ship your boxes of fish home via Fed-Ex).
- You won't need a car to go to take you to any guided fishing access points - we take care of that. However, if you'd like to explore the area after your fishing day, for example, then having a car affords you that opportunity.
- Depending on the size of your party, the cost of a car rental versus the cost of a commuter flight can be comparable. Work out the numbers and see what serves you best.
- Please note that you will not be able to rent a car in Ninilchik - the Kenai Airport is the closest option.
- If you choose to rent a vehicle in Anchorage from the off-site vendor, driving it just one-way, then it is returned to their sister company, Midway Auto, in Soldotna,(907) 260-3722.
5. Charter a wheel plane and fly directly from Anchorage in to Ninilchik, landing on our local airstrip just 3 miles from the lodge.
