Bear Viewing Package

Come to experience the raw beauty of Alaska. Watch the magnificent bears in their natural environment! Fly over glaciers and volcanoes…

Photograph the giant Brown bear up close and personal, feeding on salmon or sedge grass. Deep Creek Fishing Club is the only operator which uses helicopters to take you to non-commercial bear viewing areas; in other words, the REAL Alaska. We are the only ones that fly in to these particular spots! It is not unusual to see 30-50 bears in a day. Observe them in action as they congregate at salmon-infested creeks to gorge on fish or wander on the sandy beaches, digging up clams. Also enjoy a mountain-top or beach front shore lunch surrounded by natural beauty. Land on a glacier and bring some ice back for your evening cocktail. This is a once-in-a lifetime experience that you will want to repeat. This is truly like time travel ~ like going to where no man has gone before.

Eagle Watch Package

Join us for 3 nights and 3 days and watch Bald Eagles at play.  These majestic birds visit the lodge by the hundreds; practically on the lodge’s doorstep, you will see them nesting in the trees along the bluff, or on the edge of it spreading out their vast wing span to take to the skies. Observe their majesty as they play-fight with one another learning to soar on the currents of the wind. Stroll along the pebbled beaches to watch them interact with seagulls at the surf’s edge … in plain sight of the active volcanoes Mt Iliamna and Mt Redoubt.

Other seabirds join us too – Enjoy a dedicated trip to Gull Island  to see kittiwakes common murres. Other birds seen in smaller numbers include glaucous-winged gulls, pelagic cormorants, red-faced cormorants, puffins and pigeon guillemots.

Moose congregate around the lodge at this time also … accompanied by their just-born calves with their spindly long legs. See them stroll across the lawn at dawn or dusk, feeding on emerging shoots of grass, or tucked away in the alder bushes.

Enjoy the extra long days ~ for summer means longer days than night. The sun will barely dip below the horizon around midnight to come up again around 2 am ~ it brings a whole new meaning to sun-downers on the deck!  You will love the phenomenon of having such long days to spend, whatever the activity of the day is.

You will behold the most extraordinarily beautiful sunsets as it sets behind the volcanoes, and the closing rays of orange and gold reflect across the waters of Cook Inlet.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the natural splendor of this last frontier, its magnificent scenery and diverse wildlife, while enjoying the first class comfort of Deep Creek Fishing Club.
